The Welder will read and interpret blueprints
Weld metal parts together using MIG and/or TIG systems on steel, stainless steel, and aluminum
Preheat work pieces preparatory to welding or bending using torch, examine work piece for defects and measurements with straight edge or template to ensure conformance with specifications
Dismantle metal assemblies or cut scrap metal using thermal-cutting equipment such as flame-cutting torch or plasma-arc equipment as needed
Select, position, and secure torch, cutting tips or welding rod according to type, thickness, area, and desired temperature of metal
Fuse parts together, seal tension points, and add metal to build up parts
Maintain safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations
Accomplish organizational goals by exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments
High School or equivalent.
Minimum of 2 years MIG and TIG welding
Minimum 2 years experience in metal fabrication
Ability to work from written and verbal instructions under minimal supervision
Possess a solid work history with the willingness to learn our manufacturing processes
Experience in reading and interpreting blueprints
Experience welding metal parts using MIG or TIG systems on steel, stainless steel, and aluminum
Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair and maintenance
Ability to use measuring devices, understanding of proper heat and time settings
Ability to differentiate between metals
Frequent lifting of up to 50 lbs. required
Ability to read, write, and speak English
A good attendance history is required
