Water/Wastewater Technician (CDL Required)
Job Description
Position Summary:
The Water/Wastewater Technician performs maintenance, repair, and installation of water distribution and sewer collection systems while ensuring safe and reliable service.
Pay: $20.00- $30.00 per hour DOE
Key Responsibilities:
- Respond to and complete work orders, inspections, and customer requests
- Install, maintain, and repair water/wastewater systems (hydrants, valves, meters, sewer lines)
- Perform line repairs, leak detection, and low-pressure troubleshooting
- Assist with preventative maintenance and equipment repairs
- Operate heavy equipment (backhoes, dump trucks, jet vacs, forklifts)
- Perform trench work, backfill, and site restoration
- Clean sewer lines and lift stations
- Participate in rotating on-call schedule (nights, weekends, holidays)
- Maintain safety, compliance, and accurate documentation
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED
- FDEP Class 3 Distribution License
- Class A or B CDL with tanker endorsement (required)
- Experience with water/sewer systems or construction
- Valid driver’s license
