Job Description

HKA is working on behalf of Jacobs and this role is to support Jacobs’ work through HKA.
Responsibilities:
You’ll perform preventive and corrective maintenance on live water main distribution lines, perform plumbing repair on lines up to 6" made of various materials. Replace valves and install clamps, as needed. Lubricate equipment and check for malfunctions; replace packing in pumps or valves; replace bearings in motors, pumps, and other equipment. Clean out / jet lines and perform other plumbing and pipe fitting tasks as required. Assist in keeping maintenance work order records. Continuously improve your knowledge and skills through on-the-job training. Perform other water and wastewater duties as required, including collecting samples in the water distribution system and wastewater treatment systems to maintain compliance as permitted by Texas Commission on Environmental Quality. Ability to obtain TCEQ water and/or wastewater operator license within one year of employment.

Qualifications:
MECHANIC - WATER/WASTEWATER TREATMENT FACILITY
- Strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills
- Plumbing background preferred to address leaks, clogs or other drainage problems
- Willing to learn on-the-job
- Works well in a team
- Good communication skills
- Problem-solving skills
- Valid driver's license with no major infractions
