Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator

Pay: $24.00- $26.00 per hour DOE

Job Summary
We are seeking a qualified Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator to safely and efficiently operate and maintain a wastewater treatment facility. The ideal candidate must meet all required qualifications and be comfortable working in an active treatment plant environment.

Required Qualifications

Candidates must meet all of the following:

  • Florida Wastewater Operator’s License issued by the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (Class C or higher)

  • Minimum of 1 year experience operating a wastewater treatment facility (preferred but strongly encouraged)

  • Valid Florida driver’s license with no major infractions

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Adobe

  • Ability to work effectively with diverse teams

  • Experience serving municipal wastewater clients

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate and monitor wastewater treatment plant processes

  • Perform routine inspections, maintenance, and troubleshooting of equipment

  • Utilize SCADA systems to monitor plant operations

  • Collect samples and perform required laboratory testing

  • Accurately follow oral and written instructions

  • Maintain compliance with company safety policies and procedures

  • Work various shifts, including weekends and holidays

  • Lift and carry objects weighing up to 25 pounds

  • Work in an environment exposed to sewage and treatment processes

Work Environment

  • Active wastewater treatment facility

  • Exposure to sewage and related materials

  • Physical work requiring standing, lifting, and outdoor conditions
