A Utility Pole Inspector provides technical expertise to solve complex problems and skills to provide work in a specific area of expertise, with supervision. Employees in the Designer position are expected to develop advanced skills and the ability to work with a high degree of independence.
Employee in this position will be responsible for the design and management of projects for the Regional Major Projects and
Maintain Programs including:
Pole Placement/Replacement, DOT relocations, Grid Investment Programs, IVVC, Targeted Opportunities, DTUG, Joint Use, Large Structure Moves, Municipal Beautification Projects
Responsibilities:
- Applies technical expertise and guidance in the identification, analysis and resolution of problems in area of expertise
- Ensures accomplishment of business goals and objectives through effective planning, organizing, estimating, scheduling, and monitoring of work activities
- Prepares thorough and accurate technical reports, correspondence, documentation, calculations and sketches
- Conducts engineering and related studies
- Strives to continually improve job-related, technical and professional knowledge, skills and performance
- Develops positive working relationships to effectively coordinate work activities
- Demonstrates effective verbal and written communication skills
- Maintains accurate records and files
- Supports the company's goals and represents the company positively and professionally
- Desired Qualifications:
- Good written and oral communication skills
Education:
- High school or equivalent (Required)
Experience:
- Utility Industry
- 1 year (Required)
Engineering Design:
- 1 year (Required)
- Maximo:
- 1 year (Required)
- Experience in the utility industry
- Able to effectively apply basic principles of project management
- Understanding of basic practices of researching engineering and design issues, evaluating alternatives, making sound recommendations and preparing and presenting recommendations
- Hands on distribution line construction experience
- Experience in Distribution Design
