Client Title: Transportation Management Specialist
Location: Greer, SC
PAY: $37.81-$49.00 PER HOUR
1st Shift: 40 hours per week- 8 AM until 5 PM, Monday through Friday
Contract: Long-term ongoing, there is no end date
Interview Type: Onsite In-Person Interview
PTO, holiday, and sick pay are offered.
Job Requirements
Transportation Management Specialist
This person will work 8 hours shift but needs to be flexible to start between 7 am-9 am and work until 4 pm-6 pm at the latest.
This is to make sure there is coverage on the 10-hour shift.
No travel is required for this role.
Nice to have: Ideal to have SAP experience (tracking shipments and looking for parts), PowerBI would be preferred (to track KPIs).
Must have: Excel (pivot tables and macros experience needed), also need to be able to put presentations together in PowerPoint.
100% onsite required – flexibility with regards to doctors appts, etc.
Position Purpose/Scope:
Supports the transportation service provider to ensure they meet all key performance indicators (KPIs) and serves as a point of contact to assist in resolving any issues related to the targets being achieved. Leads and steers projects related to the provider and demonstrate the ability to create and utilize escalation processes to ensure support and accountability of the transportation service provider.
Position Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
Performs and documents both monthly and quarterly evaluations of transportation service provider performance to ensure they are achieving all established targets.
Reports on the transportation service provider’s non-conformances in a structured manner.
Defines an escalation process to report identified repetitive issues with identified countermeasures.
Utilizes defined escalation paths when required to ensure support, action, and accountability are provided, and steer as needed.
Provides recommendations on how the transportation service provider can improve operational efficiencies to include, but not limited to, team collaboration, visual management, best practices, etc.
Collaborates actively with the transportation service providers and/or other process partners impacted by the transportation service provider’s processes.
Ensures process standardization is maintained on all shifts through process revisions and communications with the immediate team and/or transportation service providers.
Establishes individual performance targets for transportation service providers and provides documented quarterly performance reviews.
Performs other duties as assigned by the Operations Supervisor.
Education:
BA/BS degree in Economics, Engineering, Supply Chain Management or a related field, or the equivalent of 4+ years’ experience in a related area preferably in a manufacturing environment.
Experience:
5+ years of professional experience managing logistics service provider/supplier contract compliance and/or supply chain management experience.
3+ years of Project Management experience.
E) Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Basic = less than 1 year of experience/training needed; Intermediate = 1 – 3 years of experience/some training may be needed; Advanced = 3-5 years’ experience/no training needed; Expert = 5+ years’ experience/able to train others.
Advanced Microsoft Office Skills to include Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, as proved through business application.
5+ years of proven problem-solving skills.
3+ years of conducting predictive analytics or statistical risk analysis.
3+ years of transportation scheduling.
3+ years of communication skills (oral and written) as proven through the business application.
