Transmission SCADA Engineer

Job Description
This position will offer a ST Pay rate of $45.35/hr.
No per diem offered for this role.
Description:
*Full time, hybrid, 3 days/week in office*
*Some day travel to visit Substations may be required (1-2 days/month.) Personal vehicle can be driven w/ mileage reimbursed.*
Position Summary:
This position is for a Transmission SCADA Engineer to primarily address Remote Engineering Access (Subnet - Power System Center) upkeep and associated modeling and data quality backlog.
Additional areas of focus for this role will be:
• Support the field with RTU/SCADA configurations across the Midwest
• RTU-specific compliance activities (Baseline Updates, Tripwire Testing, etc.)
• Communication and data-sharing standards and support with Interties
• Support non-protection based devices such as Electronic Temperature Monitors (ETMs), LTC/VR Controllers, DGAs, and Carrier.
Responsibilities
• Maintain Crossbow/SADM for Midwest Relay and RTU assets,
? Work through PSC/Aspen Rectification on 600+ devices across 271 locations
? Support Net New Device Modeling for over 30 locations
• Interface with Telecomm is needed to adapt to changing communication architecture,
? Support Architecture Cutovers
? Cambium Radio Install Project Support
• Conducts engineering and related studies; expected to engage in frequent working group phone calls and face-to-face meetings to coordinate and implement changes as a result of fleet and recognize industry best practices,
• Develops positive working relationships to effectively coordinate work activities,
• Demonstrates effective verbal and written communication skills,
• Maintains accurate records and files,
Working Conditions:
• Light travel may be needed for face-to-face interactions with engineering and Relay/SCADA field personnel.
• Expectation to be hands on in lab environment with communication based devices for template development, testing, and debugging.
• Both full-time onsite and Hybrid mobility classifications are acceptable for this role.
• Hybrid – Work will be performed from both remote and onsite locations after the onboarding period. However, hybrid workers should live within a reasonable commute to their designated Duke Energy facility
• Provides engineering/technical expertise and guidance in the identification, analysis and resolution of routine problems in area of expertise.
• Assists in the accomplishment of business goals and objectives through effective planning, organizing, estimating, scheduling and monitoring of work activities under the guidance of higher-level employees.
• Prepares thorough and accurate technical reports, correspondence, documentation, calculations and sketches associated with the resolution of routine technical problems.
• Conducts basic engineering studies requiring little evaluation or ingenuity.
• Possesses knowledge of fundamental concepts, practices and procedures.
• Develops positive working relationships to effectively coordinate work activities. Demonstrates effective oral and written communication skills. Maintains accurate records and files.
• Supports the company's goals and represents the company positively and professionally.

Requirements:
0-5 years discipline experience
Bachelor Degree
