Job Description:

Aerospace and Defense Technical is hiring an Traditional Classroom/Simulation Administrator

The Tech will perform system administration on Linux Servers and Desktop Systems in an unclassified environment.

Will ensure maximum availability and highest level of security and performance for production and developmental resources.

Will strategize, plan, execute, and manage projects with Engineering stakeholders and teammates to maintain systems, upgrade existing systems and install new systems.

May also engage in research projects to advance the real-time and non-real-time environments.

Qualifications:

BA/BS degree w/4–7+ years’ experience, or MA/MS degree w/2–5+ years’ experience

Extensive technical experience working with Linux Security, Linux Operating Systems, such as SUSE, CentOS and Red Hat, Linux Servers and Linux Desktop Systems and associated storage systems and peripherals

Experience modifying and building the Linux kernel

Experience in system performance tuning and capacity planning; exceptional technical and troubleshooting skills with computer hardware, operating systems, and productivity software

Ability to work well both independently and as a member of a team; the ability to establish priorities and resolve problems in a multi-tasked environment

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

The ability to work well with all levels of management, suppliers, and stakeholders

The ability and desire to learn and apply new technologies

Project management skills (computer resource planning, organizing, coordinating, acquiring, and deploying).

Strong programming skills in UNIX scripting languages such as Perl and Python,

Experience managing RAID file system based storage

Working knowledge of cyber-security technologies and tools

Technical knowledge and experience with VMware products and virtualized server, storage, and computer systems. C, C++, and FORTRAN experience is beneficial but not required.
