Job Description:

Aerospace and Defense Technical is hiring a Supply Chain Specialist

The Supply Chain Specialist will be dealing with civil aero engine components and materials.

Understand manufacturing processes and flows at supplier as well as sub-tiers and expedite the delivery schedule.

Review capacity at suppliers for each manufacturing process to make sure that the demand can be met in the mid and long-term.

Coordinate with logistics companies to arrange the transfer of the shipments to Japan in a timely manner when necessary in the urgent situation.

Will assist buyers by updating raw material and manufacturing lead time of components and reminding buyers to place orders in advance of the lead time.

Will have the responsibility to control the delivery schedule at suppliers to meet the order requirement

Will be expected to communicate with freight forwarders to seek the best transportation method to get the urgent shipments to be delivered to client as soon as possible.

Will be responsible for assessing capacity and yield rates at operations of a supplier and its sub-tiers.

Will be expected to facilitate the communication with suppliers to submit necessary documents and data to gain approvals.

Will be expected to notice quality issues and share the knowledge with the client.

Will conduct conference calls in the evening (Starting at 7-8PM EST) two or three times a week due to the time difference with Japan (+13hours to EST)

Will travel to suppliers once or twice every month. (Three or four nights per month) Suppliers are mostly located in the East Coast.

 

Qualifications:

Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications

More than 3 years of direct experience in supply chain management

More than 3 years of experience in aerospace industry

Understand the qualification process for the development parts and special processes and assist suppliers to submit the necessary documents and data for the qualification within the required timeline
