Aerospace and Defense Technical is hiring a Stress Engineer
Reporting to the Manager of MRB Engineering, the Stress Engineer will be responsible for conducting structural analysis of Landing Gear components and assemblies in response to regulatory / customer requirements and UTAS stress methodologies.
Will also prepare stress discrepancy analysis reports (S-DR’s) in support of a quality notification (QN) disposition
Executes stress activities including:
Perform strength, stability, residual strength, fatigue, and fracture analyses of landing gear and system structural components using both computer modeling and analysis methods and classical calculation methods.
Prepare discrepancy analyses reports.
Review drawings/models with other company disciplines and provide structures input.
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering required or a minimum of 6 years of experience in aircraft stress analysis
Clear understanding of external loads, load paths and free body diagrams
Good understanding of computing tools and programs including the use of Microsoft Office and FE analysis tools such as PATRAN, NASTRAN and ABAQUS
US Citizenship required
