Aerospace and Defense Technical is hiring a Strategic Sourcing Analyst
The Strategic Sourcing Analyst recommends the development of a plan which assesses a Supplier’s capability, capacity, performance, and cost management.
Procurement Standard Work requires the development of a plan, which considers the following six elements to drive perfect quality parts, delivered on-time, every time.
INPUT: Ensure that a Supplier see and understand the scheduled demand via MRP
WIP: Track WIP/Lead-Time (LT) weekly, drive more inventory into the system if required
QUALITY: Determine first-time process yield and ensure WIP values consider statistical process yield values in the calculation of WIP/LT
CAPACITY: Calculate Supplier’s capacity.
Chart deliveries as a function of capacity, and consider, for this Turkish Supplier Risk Mitigation Project, the need to build a Finished Goods Buffer Inventory (FGBI)
BUFFER: The goal of this activity is to establish a FGBI equal to or greater than the quantity required equal to the MRP over a time period where the primary (in this case, Turkish Supplier) ceases delivery, and alternative Supplier reach MRP production volumes consistently; a transition lead-time.
DEMAND: Working with Materials Management, adjust the MRP schedule accordingly between the Turkish Supplier and other Suppliers, including Raw Material Input supplier(s) to ensure the continued delivery of engine parts and the establishment of an appropriate FGBI.
Will work with the cognizant Account Specialists, Supply Managers, and Value Stream Managers to develop a “Plan-For-Every-Part”, which is intended to mitigate delivery risk from the Turkish Suppliers by establishing a FGBI, and as appropriate, alternate sources of manufacture for every part, either producing, or being able to produce in the time period established where the FGBI would be “burned down” in meeting MRP demand.
