Job Description:

The Senior Project Controls Specialist will serve on the Projects Control Team for the Grid Modernization organization.

Will work with a small team of Project Controls Analysts and Schedulers, interfacing primarily with Project Managers and Financial Analysts.

Will perform cost analysis for a portfolio of projects budgeted anywhere from $1M to $50M annual spend.

Will compare monthly actuals to the project budget(s), identifying all variances.

Will be responsible for evaluating and assessing the variances, identifying trends and burn rates to be presented to project leadership.

A critical element of this work will be to generate reliable schedule.

Prepare and maintain project schedules from a Level 1 summary to level 3 supporting I/T projects that range in size from $200K to $5M in annual spend.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree required

Prior experience in a similar role on large construction is needed.

Must have strong technical skills and the ability to integrate large amounts of data from multiple databases or systems.

Must be able to work with minimal supervision.

Experience with I/T projects is a plus.

Exposure to AGILE methodology is also advantageous.

A good understanding in the differences between a project estimate, the project baseline, fiscal budget and ongoing business costs required.

Influencing skills and the ability to take a complicated subject and quickly identify the areas which are critical for implementing a successful project are required.

Advanced level knowledge of EXCEL a must.

Knowledge working with Microsoft Project (we are transitioning from MSP to P6).

Above average experience with Primavera 6 or higher.

Proven experience working in this role on large projects a must.
