Senior Power Systems Engineer

Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Power Systems Engineer to support major generation projects from early development through commissioning and project closeout. This role will work closely with cross-functional project teams to support engineering design, system studies, project planning, and technical oversight.
This is a hybrid position requiring approximately 3 days per week in the office, with occasional day travel. Personal vehicle travel will be reimbursed for mileage.
Pay: $49.00- $59.00 per hour DOE
Key Responsibilities
Support development and engineering scope for major generation projects
Assist with EPC bid packages, cost estimates, schedules, and risk analysis
Support interconnection design and agreements for generation projects
Perform and review power system studies (load flow, short circuit, arc flash, grounding)
Participate in design reviews, drawing reviews, and technical evaluations
Provide engineering oversight during construction, commissioning, and performance testing
Prepare technical reports, calculations, and engineering documentation
Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support project execution and operational goals
Qualifications
10+ years of engineering experience in power generation, utilities, or power systems
Experience with natural gas fired generating facilities (simple cycle or combined cycle) preferred
Experience performing power system calculations such as load flow, short circuit, arc flash, or grounding studies
Familiarity with NERC regulatory requirements for BES generation assets preferred
Strong technical analysis, communication, and project coordination skills
Work Environment
Hybrid role with a mix of remote and on-site work. Candidates should live within commuting distance of the designated office location.
