Senior Electrical Engineer – Power & Utilities
Pay:$67.00- $86.50 per hour DOE
Location: Fort Worth, TX (Hybrid – 2 days onsite minimum)
Compensation: $140,000 – $180,000
Employment Type: Direct Hire
Travel: Up to 25%
U.S. Citizenship Required
About the Role
The energy industry is evolving rapidly, and we are expanding our Power & Utilities team to support large-scale initiatives focused on energy resiliency, sustainability, and decarbonization. We are seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to take a leadership role in delivering innovative power and utility solutions while mentoring engineering staff and supporting business growth.
This role offers the opportunity to work across the full project lifecycle—from early planning and concept development through detailed design and execution—on high-impact energy projects.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and mentor junior and mid-level electrical engineers
Serve as a technical leader on utility and power projects
Engage directly with clients to understand needs and deliver value-driven solutions
Support business development efforts, including proposals, scopes, and man-hour estimates
Collaborate with sales and account teams on strategic pursuits
Oversee electrical engineering design and advisory services across multiple market sectors
Anticipate project challenges and guide teams through complex technical decisions
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (EE)
10+ years of professional electrical engineering experience
Majority of experience supporting utility and power projects
Active Professional Engineer (PE) license (any U.S. state) or ability to obtain within 1 year
Strong client engagement and communication skills
Experience with proposal development and project execution planning
Passion for mentoring and developing technical teams
Ability to work hybrid from the Fort Worth, TX office (fully remote not considered)
Highly Regarded Experience
Power distribution systems and microgrids
Power generation projects 10MW+
HV / MV substations
Renewable energy (wind, solar, hydro, geothermal)
Energy storage systems
Power system modeling (SKM, ETAP, or similar)
Protection & Control, SCADA, or power automation
Utility master planning, decarbonization, or climate response planning
Cogeneration / CHP systems
Thermal utility plants and distribution systems
