Job Description
HKA is working on behalf of Jacobs and this role is to support Jacobs’ work through HKA.
Responsibilities:
Possess a SAFETY- FIRST mindset:
- Coach and motivator of people; inspires by example, unwavering commitment to safety.
- Support business plan goals; monitor tasks to ensure goals are achieved.
- Ensure consistent and professional communication and appearance with all levels of Honda management, associates, customers, and local jurisdictions.
- Assist in safety incident classification, investigation methodologies, root cause analyses, and corrective action development. Must be detail oriented and consistently meet commitments.
- Possess good time management and planning skills, can multi-task and prioritize effective
- Assist with administering and compliance with safety programs.
OSHA 1920 for General Industry:
- Work with vendors and internal customers to coordinate and conduct safety trainings.
- Coordinate with national sites to ensure and support program compliance.
- Review documentation and log trainings.
- Identify and implement countermeasures for deficiencies.
Perform Safety Audits, respond to OSHA inspections, and update safety manual and/or safety programs:
- Travel, including some overnight, to local and national Honda facilities to perform safety audits and various inspections.
- Lead and support the identification and implementation of countermeasure activities.
- Respond to OSHA inspections and give guidance and recommendations as appropriate.
- Continue working on updating the safety manual as changes in laws requirements occur.
- Perform monthly checks of eye wash stations, emergency showers, fire extinguishers, etc.
- Prepare regulatory submissions for supervisor review (OSHA 300 logs and BLS surveys for all sites).
Review incident reports and report on trends/issues:
- Oversee the completion of the OSHA 300 logs and BLS surveys.
- Review incident reports and meeting summary of various local safety committees to monitor for trends/issues.
Perform as a team player:
- Assists peers of group, other departments, and local jurisdictions with safety projects and/or inquiries.

Qualifications:
Desired Qualifications:
- Bachelor’ degree in Safety, Engineering, or other related field.
- Or, Minimum 2-3 years safety experience in a manufacturing and/or corporate environment.
Qualifications

• Creative analytical skills
• Excellent communication and organization skills
• Excellent customer service skills, including dealing with difficult and stressful situations
• Strong PC skills (Microsoft Office suite, Excel emphasis)
• Working knowledge of OSHA 1920; Confined Space, LOTO, Forklift, and other safety programs
