The Quality Manager is responsible for providing quality oversite and support for aero-derivative gas turbine programs. He or she works with executive management, Engineering, Procurement, and other departments to drive the business and its suppliers to achieve quality, cost, and delivery goals. The Quality Manager oversees the development, implementation, control, and distribution of all quality practices, standards, methodologies, and metrics. The Quality Manager ensures that the ISO 9001 compliant quality management system requirements are implemented and documented.

 Job Summary

 Manage a team of quality engineers to assure the following activities are executed in a timely manner and per the required standards:

  • First article inspections
  • Supplier source inspections
  • Supplier system audits and process compliance assessments
  • Special process assessments such as NDT, heat treat, coating, brazing, welding, etc.
  • Engineering Source Approvals
  • Supplier quality assurance oversight
  • Develop, manage, present, and distribute quality metrics: NCM, supplier performance, escapes, etc.
  • Monthly program reviews
  • Quality Management meetings/Operations meetings
  • Review/modify quality requirements for supplier purchase orders as required
  • Generate new process specifications, procedures, and process audit checklists
  • Implement effective corrective and preventive actions
  • Manage supplier and customer escapes
  • Manage supplier nonconformances/deviations

Job Requirements

Skill Requirements:

  • Highly adaptable team player with the ability to develop, lead, and sustain change activities effectively
  • Self-motivated with excellent communication, leadership, and project management skills, and a demonstrated track record of accomplishments
  • Capable to provide Quality leadership and technical support within the value streams for the FT8® and FT4000® gas turbine programs
  • Strong analytical skills and process engineering knowledge
  • Strong conceptual and strategic thinking required to influence continuous improvement objectives, while maintaining a broader view of the business
  • Competent in problem solving, planning, decision making, and team building
  • Proficient with Excel, database management, and SAP

Education/Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in science or engineering or related discipline required, MBA preferred
  • 10-12 years of Quality Management experience
  • Project management experience
  • ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) and/or Certified Quality Auditor (CQA) qualifications desired

Additional Requirements

  • Familiarity with the client's quality and design specifications
  • Airfoil casting experience preferred
  • Domestic and international travel (10 percent) required to support supplier development, investigation initiatives, and customer site support

 

Experience:

  • Managerial: 5 years (Required)
  • gas turbine parts: 5 years (Required)
  • Quality Management: 10 years (Required)

License/Certification:

  •  ASQ Certified Quality Engineer or Certified Quality Auditor (Required)
