Project Manager II
Job Description
About the Role
We are seeking a Project Manager II to lead and manage capital projects within a utilities/energy environment. This role has single-point accountability (or operates under general direction of a Senior PM/Project Director) for delivering projects safely, on schedule, and within budget.
Projects typically involve low to moderate risk and require strong coordination across engineering, construction, regulatory, and operations teams.
Pay: $71.00- $81.00 per hour DOE
Key Responsibilities
Project Leadership
Lead and coordinate cross-functional, matrixed project teams
Interface with Engineering, Construction, Supply Chain, EHS, QA/QC, Regulatory, and Operations
Serve as primary project contact for stakeholders and management
Planning & Execution
Develop and manage project scope, schedule, cost, risk, quality, and safety plans
Oversee estimating, procurement strategy, contractor/vendor coordination, and commissioning
Monitor cost controls, scheduling, and risk mitigation efforts
Ensure projects are delivered within approved scope and budget
Governance & Reporting
Lead project meetings and stakeholder communications
Provide status updates and reporting aligned with PM standards
Manage change control and project closeout activities
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree
5+ years of project management experience
Proficiency in project management principles
Experience leading cross-functional teams
Experience managing scope, schedule, and budget performance
Preferred Qualifications
Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or Business
Experience managing $5M+ capital projects
Utility, energy, or infrastructure industry experience
PMP, PE, or other professional certification
Strong knowledge of scheduling and cost control practices
Construction management background
