Project Accounting and Procurement Tech (Entry)
Job Description
Seeking an entry-level Project Accounting and Procurement Technician to support accounting, procurement, and administrative activities for a municipal operations contract, using a municipal ERP system to manage purchase requisitions, expenditures, and financial records.
Pay: $24.52 per hour
Key Responsibilities:
- Create and submit purchase requisitions; verify account coding and budget availability
- Track requisitions through purchase order issuance and payment
- Reconcile goods/services against purchase orders and invoices
- Maintain procurement, accounting, and financial records
- Track expenditures and assist with budget management
- Prepare financial and purchasing reports
- Research and resolve purchase order/invoice discrepancies
- Support audits, compliance reviews, and records management
- Coordinate with vendors and internal stakeholders
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED
- 1-3 years of experience in accounting, bookkeeping, purchasing, or related support functions
- Experience with financial management or ERP systems
- Strong analytical and organizational skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Valid New Mexico Driver's License
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Experience with public-sector procurement or municipal financial operations
- Advanced Excel skills
- Experience with municipal ERP systems
