Job Description:

This is a Schedule Controls Position. Must have significant Scheduling experience.

The Gas Operations Major Projects team is hiring a Principal Project Controls Specialist – Scheduling to develop/manage Scheduling functions and processes for Natural Gas Pipeline and Facilities projects.

The PPCS is responsible for leading the development of the reporting systems for project controls assignments.

Performs complex aspects of individual project scheduling, change documentation and cost control while reporting up to program or portfolio level as well as trains and teaches other members of PC organization aspects of projects controls.

Will be the expert/ lead of at least one of the project controls core competency areas: Scheduling, Estimating, Cost Engineering.

Will be a leader for the PC team as well as a team member of multiple project or program teams.

Supports Project Managers and Project Directors on projects and programs of varying size and complexity.

Will be expected to lead / direct the set up and reviews of the project controls status (cost, contract, WBS, schedule, resource, etc.).

Will be critical to the mentoring of PCS I/PCS II/SrPCS positions.

Using prescribed methods and tools, will be responsible for performing primary aspects of project control assignments.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, project management, engineering, technical, or equivalent; OR 11 years of related experience in lieu of degree

Masters – business, finance, project management, engineering, construction management or equivalent preferred.

PMI or AACE certification (the following or equivalent are acceptable - PMP, CAPM, PMI-SP, AACE-CCC, AACE-PSP, AACE-CEP, AACE-EVP) preferred.

Seven or more years of prior work related experience in addition to a degree

Expertise/Mastery with project management / project controls concepts / computer applications / analytics; employee development; strong collaborative team member; oversight

Expertise/Mastery with project scheduling

Expertise in Project Controls Methodologies.

Software such as MS Project/MS Office Suite, Primavera, Business Objects, Prolog, Passport,

Visio, Powerplant, Emax, Peoplesoft
