Role Overview
Pay: $88.00- $98.00 per hour DOE
We are seeking a Principal Project Controls Specialist to support large-scale, highly complex nuclear projects. This expert-level role leads the development and execution of project controls systems across estimating, scheduling, cost control, and change management, with visibility at the program and portfolio level.
This position is suited for a highly experienced professional who operates independently, mentors others, and provides strategic project controls leadership on Brown and Black classified projects.
Key Responsibilities
Lead development and execution of project controls reporting systems for major nuclear capital projects
Perform advanced estimating, scheduling, cost control, forecasting, and change management activities
Provide integrated reporting at the project, program, and portfolio levels
Analyze cost and schedule performance and support executive decision-making
Support risk management efforts, including probabilistic analysis when applicable
Train, mentor, and guide junior project controls professionals
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, external vendors, and suppliers
Operate with minimal oversight and wide latitude for independent decision-making
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, project management, engineering, or related field
7+ years of project controls experience
11+ years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
Expert-level knowledge of project controls principles and methodologies
Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder collaboration skills
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree in business, finance, project management, or related field
PMI or AACE certification (PMP, PMI-SP, PSP, CEP, EVPP, CCC, or similar)
Advanced experience with tools such as:
Primavera P6, MS Project, MS Office Suite
Business Objects, Prolog, Passport, Visio, PeopleSoft, Powerplant, Emax
Experience with risk management and Monte Carlo analysis
Nuclear or large regulated capital project experience
