Pile Driving/Bridge Inspector
Job Description

Perform regular inspections of bridge structures and pile driving operations to assess their condition and ensure compliance with engineering specifications, safety codes, and industry standards. Inspect piles, pilings, and other bridge foundation elements during and after construction, ensuring they meet load-bearing requirements and quality standards. Document and report inspection findings, identifying any signs of wear, damage, or structural deficiencies. Collaborate with engineers and project managers to ensure timely identification and resolution of any issues or concerns related to the foundation and structural integrity of bridges. Perform non-destructive testing (NDT) and other methods to evaluate the integrity of materials and structures. Review and maintain accurate inspection reports, drawings, and records for each project. Monitor environmental conditions and ensure that all work follows environmental regulations. Provide recommendations for repairs, replacements, or improvements to bridge components based on inspection results. Assist with quality control and safety inspections related to pile driving and bridge construction activities. Ensure all inspections are completed within project timelines and meet local, state, and federal regulations. Attend training and maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry practices, safety standards, and regulations.
Job Requirements
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma (or equivalent); associate or bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a related field is a plus.
- 2+ years of experience in pile driving, bridge inspection, or a related field.
- Knowledge of bridge construction methods, structural analysis, and pile driving techniques.
- Strong understanding of structural integrity, safety codes, and inspection protocols.
- Experience with non-destructive testing (NDT) methods and equipment is a plus.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and inspection reports.
- Familiarity with relevant federal, state, and local construction regulations, including DOT standards.
- Strong communication and organizational skills, with attention to detail.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to travel to job sites.
- Ability to work in various weather conditions and access hard-to-reach areas (including working from heights).
