Payroll Analyst

Position is hybrid, must be local to Columbus, OH

Responsibilities:
• Process full cycle payroll
• Answers calls/emails from employees, government agencies, and 3rd party vendors on any questions with employee checks, the payroll system, W-2's, etc.
• Assists with payroll processing on a bi-weekly basis
• Reviews checks and payroll reports for any exceptions or errors and verifies data entry for accuracy
• Inputs, prepares, and maintains both on-cycle, and manual check data including stop payments, voids, or deposit reversals
• Assists in maintaining payroll files.
• Processes garnishment, direct deposit, and other general deduction information in the payroll system
• Depending on the needs of the business and/or department, may complete other duties as assigned to advance a particular project or to resolve a business issue
• Provides payroll reports to other departments, for required audits, census as needed.
• Process bi-weekly and weekly payrolls including but not limited to verifying hours, calculating OT & retro pay; processing benefit deductions; bonus payouts; direct deposit or pay card set up; balancing payroll; saving payroll reports; conduct post payroll audit, etc.
• Prepare manual checks/pay card load as needed
• Process stop payments and reissues of lost payroll checks/pay cards and direct deposit reversals; investigate and resolve all payroll discrepancies in a timely and accurate fashion
• Provide adhoc payroll or job/salary reports for HR, operations, accounting or other departments as requested
• Handle employment verifications and provides data updates to The Work Number
• Performance Wage & Tax Reconciliations; handle new hire reporting
• Closely works with payroll vendors with regards to associate garnishments
• Participates in year-end W2 audit activities
• Provide stellar customer service to all individuals
• Special projects as needed and/or as assigned
• Internal reporting and generate manual or on-demand checks as necessary.
• Review payroll data for inefficiencies and errors, run audit reports, and prepare payroll preliminary reconciliation.
• Set up new payroll tax and accounts with tax agencies and HRIS vendor quickly and accurately; resolve tax inaccuracies/fallouts and tax-related issues and agency notices
• Monitor tax setup of new hires and employee residential/worksite moves regularly
• Prepare and maintain accurate records and reports of payroll transactions in electronic storage.

Qualifications:
Must have payroll processing- beginning to end
Workday experience preferred
