W2 Contract: End date – 6 month contract from start date.

Type: Hybrid – 3 days onsite each week will be required. Training will be onsite – candidate will be required to go onsite everyday while in training.

The position would be working for HKA at the WOODCLIFF LAKE, NJ facility

1 PTO day per month on the 1st of each month

Outline:

The role is part of the Finance Department of a major Automotive OEM, so familiarity with financial workflows or reporting is beneficial, though not required.

Candidates with strong general web development skills (even outside Oracle APEX) may still be a good fit if they demonstrate adaptability and willingness to learn.

At least one in-person interview round is required to validate hands-on skills and ensure authenticity of work.

Two case study tasks will be part of the interview process—one remote and one in-person to assess real-world problem-solving and technical capabilities.

The team values collaboration, accountability, and clear communication, especially when working with cross-functional stakeholders in finance and IT.

Candidates should be comfortable working in a structured corporate environment with clear expectations and deadlines.

The ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions is highly valued.

While Oracle APEX is the preferred platform, candidates with experience in other low-code or web development frameworks may be considered if they demonstrate strong foundational skills.

Candidates should be open to learning and adapting to internal tools and processes, including documentation standards and security protocols.

Role Overview

Responsibilities:

Design, develop, and maintain Oracle APEX applications to support finance operations and reporting.

Build user-friendly interfaces and dashboards using modern web technologies.

Develop and optimize database structures and PL/SQL packages for financial data processing.

Integrate applications with internal and external systems using RESTful APIs.

Automate financial workflows and reporting processes.

Conduct testing, debugging, and performance tuning to ensure reliability and accuracy.

Create and maintain technical documentation and user guides.

Ensure application security and compliance with corporate and financial data policies.

Collaborate with finance stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver effective solutions.

EDUCATION:

Minimum: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related field.

Preferred: Master’s degree in a relevant discipline.

Top 3 ‘must have’ technologies/skills?

Oracle APEX Development and similar platforms. 

Experience building and maintaining applications using Oracle APEX. 

Ability to translate business requirements into functional APEX solutions.

SQL & PL/SQL

Strong command of database querying and procedural logic.

Essential for backend development, data manipulation, and performance optimization.

Web Technologies (HTML, JavaScript, CSS)

Required for creating dynamic, user-friendly interfaces.

Enables customization and enhancement of APEX front-end components.

Top 3 ‘nice to have’ technologies/skills?      

RESTful API Integration: Experience connecting applications to internal or external systems using REST APIs. Useful for automating data exchange and enhancing system interoperability.

Oracle Machine Learning (Oracle ML): Familiarity with Oracle ML tools and techniques for predictive analytics or data-driven decision-making. Valuable for enhancing financial reporting and forecasting capabilities.

Experience in Finance or Automotive Industry: Understanding of financial workflows, reporting, or budgeting processes. Experience working in a finance department or for a financial services company is a plus.

MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE:

Candidates should have experience developing web-based applications, ideally using Oracle APEX or similar platforms.

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related field (master’s preferred).

SQL and PL/SQL

Must be able to work on-site in Woodcliff Lake, NJ at least three days per week.
