The role of a Global Network Data Centre Engineer is responsible for the Day to Day engineering of the Global production network environments which includes all aspects of the Data Centre & Computer Room stacks globally. The candidate will work Globally closely with a mixture of Internal and External resources including a Managed Service partner who provides operational support. The successful candidate will require extensive experience in multinational environments and with the specific technologies used to deliver the associated services. This is a Global technical position requiring both strong technical knowledge in conjunction with demonstration of ownership.
- Experience in developing network solutions with high availability and resiliency
- Experience with Network mergers, acquisitions and divestitures
- Understanding of network design for optimal performance and availability
- Support Office Moves and renewals according to defined standard designs
- Technical networking ability to support troubleshooting Network environments within a Data Centre environment and associated Computer Rooms
- Assist the Operations teams with root cause analysis and other troubleshooting activities as needed
- Aligning with Vendors around service lifecycles and roadmaps
- Vendor management for production hardware lifecycle
- Managed Service Provider technology solutions evaluation
- Managed Service Provider technical resource and capabilities evaluation
- Availability tracking and technical elimination of repeat incidents
Job Requirements
Technical Skills:
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in IT Operations Technical Engineering positions
- Proven Technical capability in the field of Data Centre design, management and standardization
- Experience of working as part of a Global function
- History of working in both an insource IT model and a blend of Managed Service Delivery would be beneficial
- Experience with creating predictive surveys using planning software such as Airwave VisualRF (preferred) , Ekahau or AirMagnet
- Experience designing, implementing, and troubleshooting high density wireless enterprise office networks.
- Deep working knowledge of 802.11 protocols, RF propagation, and antenna technologies using multipath, spatial multiplexing, and diversity.
- Experienced in RF optimization as well as interference and coexistence analysis, and ability to apply this to resolve issues in poor RF environments.
- Experience supporting and troubleshooting voice applications over wireless; such as Skype for business.
- History of working in both an insource IT model and a blend of Managed Service Delivery would be beneficial
- Experience in designing SD-WAN solutions using VeloCloud would be beneficial

- Demonstrated strong personal mastery, including ethics, interpersonal skills, and engagement in continuous learning.
- Able to communicate and present complex issues with assurance and confidence.
- Ability to drive troubleshooting calls and have good skills in questioning, listening, idea development and influencing.
- Ability to work with a team to provide written documentation and skills transfer to the larger technical organization.

- Resolve technical issues of projects and explore alternate designs
- Participates as a team member and fosters teamwork by inter-group coordination within the modules of the project.
- Effectively collaborates and communicates with the stakeholders and team members to ensure successful completion of the projects and ongoing operations support of the environment.
- Train and coach members of project groups to ensure effective knowledge management activities.
