Manufacturing Welder (2nd shift)
Casper, WY 82609
Will start working days for training, and will eventually be shifted to a swing shift (3pm - 1am).
The Manufacturing Welder welds metal parts together using both gas welding or brazing and any combination of arc welding processes
Performs related tasks such as thermal cutting and grinding.
Repairs broken or cracked parts, fills holes, and increases size of metal parts
Positions and clamps together components of fabricated metal products preparatory to welding.
Set up and operate welding machine that welds together parts of fabricated metal products by performing assigned duties.
Operates overhead crane and other capacity lifting equipment safely in order to move parts.
Operates both standup and sit-down forklifts as needed, to move parts and materials.
Supports heat treating function as necessary.
Performs all welding duties, which include but are not limited to, production welding, as well as all welding necessary for the reworking of parts.
High School diploma, GED required.
0 - 2 years of related experience.
Welding certificate from an accredited welding school preferred.
Previous Certification received in: Stick Metal Arc Weld (D10018) and (Stainless).
Gas Tungsten Arc Weld. Gas Metal Arc Weld
Able to pass a 1G plate test with GMAW root, and SMAW fill and cap preferred.
Must be able to complete Weld Certification Test within 3 months of hire: Stick Metal Arc Weld; (D10018), (Stainless). Gas Tungsten Arc Weld. Gas Metal Arc Weld.
Must be able to operate overhead crane and standup and sit down forklifts other capacity lifting equipment safely in order to move parts. Requires passing of certification within first 30 days on job.
Proficient in the use of computer systems to retrieve be able to retrieve relevant work documents.
Capable of using drawings and specifications to determine dimensions and tolerances of part/product, sequence of operations and/or set up requirements.
Capable of inspecting welding projects against required specifications. Comprehend work instructions and be able to select proper tools and equipment needed to perform welding operations.
Comprehend work instructions and be able to identify material types to ensure that correct procedures and filler metal and/or electrodes are used.
Completely trained in applicable preheating, welding and cutting equipment and processes.
Must pass designated qualification tests (ASME and Orbit Procedures) within first 90 days of employment and be qualified in a minimum of four processes, (SMAWGMAW, SAW and FCAW).
Must produce acceptable welding demonstration as part of the interview process.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to write and/or complete routine reports in a legible manner.
Ability to follow a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule formats.
Should be able to communicate information effectively, in the same manner.
Knowledge of both internet and Manufacturing software.
Must have reliable transportation, and be able to complete a full shift.
