The Manual Machinist will set up and operate manual equipment: Drill Press, Bridgeport, Clausing sv/mill, Band Saw and Vertical Press.
Performs assigned tasks in a safe manner, avoiding all unsafe practices.
Performs internal quality control of machining procedures.
Sets up and performs jobs based on shop practices and procedures.
Inspects finished product and uses measuring devices and drawing to inspect parts to meet required specifications.
Corrects defects as required.
Operates machines and produces parts of varying complexity.
Sets up equipment with appropriate stops, clamps, fixtures and tooling.
Completes required documentation and drawings at completion of the job.
Provides input into resolution of machining problems.
Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
High School Diploma or GED required
3 years minimum experience in a metal fabrication environment.
Must be able work from written and verbal instructions under minimal supervision.
Must possess a solid work history with the willingness to learn our manufacturing processes.
Knowledgeable and experienced in the many processes associated with a fabrication shop, from light-gauge sheet metal to heavy plate.
English language skills preferred
Knowledge of basic machining practices.
Ability to use hand tools, micrometers, calipers, indicators, etc.
Ability to set up and operate manual equipment: Drill Press, Bridgeport, Clausing sv/mill, Band Saw and Vertical Press.
Ability to read and interpret drawings accurately read and interpret measuring devices.
