Machine Lubrication Technician I

Description

Perform machine lubrication in accordance with established procedures and good lubrication practices. Manage lubricant delivery, storage and dispensation.  Manage existing lubrication routes and assist in improving or modifying routes as appropriate.  Perform oil sampling.  Document and maintain lubrication data per plant procedures.  Individual must also possess a basic understanding of equipment and functions such that the individual can identify current or potential problems allowing the maintenance team to perform proactive repairs prior to equipment failure.

Additional Duties and Responsibilities Include:

Functional/Technical Knowledge:  Knowledge of basic discipline.  Limited knowledge of industry practices and standards.

Problem Solving and Innovation:  Develop solutions to routine problems following established client policies and procedures.

Discretion, Latitude, Level of Independence:  Closely supervised.  Follows specific, detailed instructions. 

Impact and Organizational Contribution:  Contributes to the completion of routine tasks.  Failure to achieve results will not have significant impact on departmental objectives.

Teamwork/Influence:  Contacts are primarily within immediate work group or within normal process-related work flow.

Time Span of Work:  Daily tasks and deliverables. Results can usually be measured on daily or weekly basis

Qualifications

• Education:   High school diploma / general education degree (GED)
• Experience:  No specific experience required
• Certificates, Licenses or Registrations: n/a
• Language Skills: Basic computer skills required.
• Work Environment: Routinely handling hazardous materials and often exposed to heights, temperature extremes, equipment in motion, dusty and dirty conditions, stooping, bending and heavy lifting
