  • The Lead Tech performs a variety of tasks in assisting with the planning, scheduling and directing the operation, maintenance, repair and calibration of the equipment, instruments, processes and support systems of an industrial water/wastewater treatment facility on an assigned shift.
  • Schedules work to be performed and determines types and quantities of materials required to perform such work
  • Applies knowledge to the principles, practices and methods of industrial treatment processes and conveyance system operations including but not limited to water/ wastewater and remediation systems
  • Provides reports as requested by management on operations and maintenance tasks scheduled and performed
  • Performs operations and maintenance activities including the collection of samples and performance of routine laboratory tests and analyses on plant influence, effluent, process and industrial discharges
  • Works with equipment manufacturers to determine equipment installation needs, preventive maintenance requirements and insures that all warranties are maintained
  • Troubleshoots, diagnoses and repairs facility equipment and instrumentation, including instrument calibration and preventive maintenance
  • Makes operating decisions in absence of supervisory personnel
  • Performs other duties as required
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Level 2 Delaware Operator certification
  • 3 years technical training or experience in electronics, electrical, mechanical or instrumentation control methods
  • 5 years’ experience with water/wastewater treatment facilities; industrial, chemical or biological treatment processes; and maintenance of industrial equipment and calibration of instrumentation and control systems or 3 years technical training in the same in lieu of experience preferred
  • Possess a valid driver’s license with no major infractions
  • Knowledge of computer software including but not limited to Microsoft Office, Excel, Outlook, and data management software
  • Willingness to cross train and assist in both maintenance and operations areas
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing both inside and outside the organization
