Instrumentation Technician
Job Description
Job Summary
Pay: $60.00-$75.00 per hour DOE
We are seeking an experienced Instrumentation Technician III to support calibration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of instrumentation and control systems within a manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and reliability of plant instrumentation, electrical equipment, and control systems while maintaining compliance with safety and operational standards.
The technician will work with process instrumentation, electrical systems, calibration equipment, and PLC controls to maintain plant operations and support preventative maintenance programs.
Key Responsibilities

Perform calibration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of plant instrumentation and control systems

Maintain instrument calibration records within the Computerized Calibration Management System

Develop and maintain instrument calibration and preventative maintenance procedures
-
Troubleshoot electrical, electronic, pneumatic, and electro-mechanical systems
-
Support maintenance and repair of transformers, breakers, bus ducts, and motor control centers (MCC)
-
Perform mathematical calculations and analysis related to calibration and system troubleshooting
-
Ensure compliance with plant safety policies and procedures
-
Maintain accurate documentation and maintenance records
Job Requirements
Required Qualifications
-
High school diploma or GED with manufacturing maintenance or plant experience
OR -
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a technical field
-
Knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems
-
Understanding of AC/DC electrical theory and instrumentation calibration
-
Ability to read, write, and develop calibration and maintenance procedures
-
Strong communication and problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications
-
1–2 years of experience with an Associate or technical degree
-
Bachelor’s degree in a technical field

Experience with:

Electronic control systems
-
PLC or control systems
-
Pneumatic control systems
-
Calibration systems
-
HVAC or refrigeration systems
-
Electro-mechanical systems
-
Fluid systems
-
Physical Requirements
-
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds

Standing, walking, bending, climbing ladders

Ability to perform technical troubleshooting and data analysis

Must be able to wear PPE and required protective gowning
