HKA is working on behalf of Jacobs and this role is to support Jacobs’ work through HKA.
Shift: 6am-2:30p

General Statement
Performs the inspection, maintenance and repair for all equipment control circuits including electrical, electronic and pneumatic systems and telemetry systems, supervisory control and data acquisition systems and signal devices

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Interprets and works from blueprints, drawings, sketches, plans and technical documents
• Performs the calibration and repair of all flow metering devices
• Recommends control system modifications with documented justification that will result in standard utilization of parts and materials and will reduce operating and repair costs
• Establishes and enforces uniform electrical repair safety procedures at all plant sites
• Makes modifications to as-built electrical drawings based on system modifications and updates all electrical component equipment history files
• Establishes and maintains scheduled control system maintenance and calibration programs for plant equipment
• Directs the work of electrical subcontractors and all outside control system repair work
• Maintains record keeping associated with all electrical repairs and modifications
• Follows oral and written instructions
• Establishes and maintains cooperative relationship with those contacted during the course of work
• Performs other duties as required
• Regularly inspects the working condition and maintains the cleanliness of equipment and surrounding areas
• Assist in coordinating job activities with other team members
• Assist with review of capital improvement project studies, designs, and contract drawings.
• Forecast material and equipment needs
• Provides on-the-job training to less experienced employees

Job Requirements

Basic Qualifications
• High school diploma or GED
• Five years of experience with knowledge of the maintenance, repair and calibration of electrical control systems
• Possess a valid California driver’s license
• Knowledge of computer software including but not limited to Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel
• Possess or able to obtain a T2 water operator certification from the State of California within 2 years of hiring

Preferred Qualifications
• Three years experience in a Lead position as an Industrial and Control Technician in a water/wastewater facility
• Knowledge of the methods, materials, equipment, and instruments used in the maintenance, repair and calibration of electrical and electronic control systems including:
– Distributed Control Systems (DCS)
– Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) or PC based controls
– Graphics human machine interface (HMI) or similar IO devices
– Instrumentation communication networks (Ethernet, DeviceNet, ControlNet, Profibus) or similar
– Electrical power distribution and conduit wiring
– Servers, drives, actuators, variable frequency drives (VFDs), valves, etc.
• Knowledge of the principle and practices of an effective control system preventive maintenance program, safe work practices, and related state and federal laws and regulations
