PinPoint Solutions is hiring a Hydraulic Welder-Pipe Fitter

Description:

The Hydraulic Welder-Pipe Fitter position works in and supports the Hydraulic Systems shop to ensure any welded pre-fabrication assemblies and sub-assemblies are completed per scope/specification and any additional welding is completed as necessary while adhering to prescribed quality and safety standards.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Set up welding machines based on the job at hand or using a Welding Procedure Specification
  • Read and interpret blueprints and/or drawings to determine the specific welding requirements
  • MIG and TIG weld steel, aluminum and stainless steel components based on the specification
  • Measure, mark, cut, thread and hammer pipe to specification using tools such as saws, grinders, plasma torches, pipe threaders and benders
  • Assemble and secure pipes, tubes, fittings and related equipment according to specification by welding
  • Attach pipe to structures and fixtures such as tanks/reservoirs using brackets, clamps, tools or welding equipment
  • Clean and inspect cut pipe, pipe assemblies and pipe headers using borescope
  • Lift raw materials, pipe and pipe assemblies using a hoist/crane/forklift
  • Follow, create and assist maintaining Welding Procedure Specifications
  • Set up welding cells for serial production runs
  • Assemble items as instructed by floor supervisor, Project Manager Quality Assurance Package, drawings, models, etc.
  • Keep work areas clean and organized and keep equipment maintained and clean
  • Ensure work is done safely and meets quality standards by following all safety rules and quality standards – uphold all ISO and OSHA standards applicable to the responsibilities above

Qualification:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Associates degree (AA) or equivalent from a 2-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience required

 

  • Two years’ experience with steel, aluminum and/or stainless steel preferred
  • Experience with pipe-fitting
  • Experience with MIG and TIG highly preferred
  • Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control
  • Ability to identify and measure material
  • Ability to produce quality products consistently
  • Ability to follow instructions given both verbally and written
  • Willingness to learn and work to the best of his/her abilities as well as dependable work ethic
  • Ability to read blueprints, drawings, calipers, tape measures and angle gauges
  • Ability to read and interpret documents furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, quality manuals and procedure manuals
  • Must be reliable with a strong work ethic
  • Ability to stand continuously for long periods of time
  • Willing to work 40+ hours a week as needed
