HVAC Mechanic
Job Description
We are seeking an experienced HVAC Technician to support facilities maintenance operations at a premier research and industrial site. This role is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of commercial and industrial HVAC systems, including refrigeration, controls, and building automation systems.
Pay: $23.00- $30.00 per hour DOE
What You’ll Do:
- Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on HVAC and environmental control systems
- Troubleshoot refrigeration, electrical, and control system issues
- Service AHUs, VAVs, motors, and related HVAC components
- Work with building automation systems and HVAC controls
- Perform piping connections, leak checks, and minor mechanical repairs
- Maintain compliance with safety and operational standards
Required Education:
- High School Diploma or GED required
- HVAC vocational/technical training preferred
Required Experience:
- Industrial or commercial HVAC experience (including refrigeration and control systems)
- Experience with HVAC troubleshooting and facility maintenance operations
Required Skills & Knowledge:
- Strong electrical troubleshooting skills (including systems up to 480V)
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) blueprints
- Experience with HVAC controls and building automation systems (BAS)
- Knowledge of AHU systems, including motors, belts, sheaves, and bearings
- Experience performing preventive maintenance and system repairs
- Basic computer proficiency for job-related applications and systems
Required Certifications & Licenses:
- Valid driver’s license (required)
- Must pass background clearance (client requirements)
- EPA Universal Certification (preferred)
Additional Requirements:
- Ability to work overtime and weekends as needed
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
