Job Description


Duties & Responsibilities
• Design standard items including design calculations. Knowledgeable of requirements of various federal, state and county agencies.
• A successful candidate will demonstrate experience in performing distribution design for local utility company, including preparing site plans and construction drawings for both overhead and underground facilities. Familiarity with NESC and local utility company pole attachment and design standards also required.
• Skills required will include: Working knowledge of primary distribution systems. Familiar with NESC clearance codes as they apply to secondary voltage and foreign attachments. Current knowledge of Smallworld based GIS systems, Pole Foreman and drafting capabilities using Microstation a plus. Must possess the ability to learn various software programs for design and asset management functions.
• Apply standards and engineering fundamentals to design overhead and underground electric distribution facilities, select materials and prerequisites . Design, size and specify items within design utilizing distribution standards. Complete job packages using Bentley Utility Designer, Maximo and Pole Foreman.
• Manage, execute and report on workload for yourself and team as required.
• Prepares thorough and accurate technical reports, correspondence, documentation, calculations and sketches with some guidance. Develops positive working relationships to effectively coordinate work activities. Demonstrates effective verbal and written communication skills. Maintains accurate records and files. Supports the company's goals and represents the company positively and professionally.
• Valid Driver's License and clean driving record. Own vehicle. Available for storm restoration activities.

High School

1 year experience with BOUD and Maximo
