Job Description
Electrical Engineer – Semiconductor Facilities
Pay: $48.22- $73.08 per hour DOE
Location: Boise, ID (On-site)
Employment Type: Contract-to-Hire
Position Summary
The Electrical Engineer will support the design and construction of advanced semiconductor manufacturing facilities, including cleanrooms and laboratories. This role provides technical leadership, oversees electrical design deliverables, and supports on-site construction activities in a fast-paced, client-facing environment.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering or Renewable Energy Engineering from an ABET-accredited program
Active Professional Engineer (PE) license with ability to obtain licensure in Idaho
10+ years of experience in building electrical design
Strong working knowledge of NFPA 70 (NEC)
Experience performing voltage drop, arc flash, short circuit, and load flow calculations using SKM PTW, EasyPower, or similar software
Experience selecting electrical equipment and reviewing vendor submittals
Field experience working with subcontractors and construction teams
Ability to perform site walks and punch list inspections
Preferred Qualifications
2+ years of experience with semiconductor manufacturing tools or cleanroom environments
Electrical design experience for semiconductor, data center, or mission-critical facilities
Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit, or BIM software
Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Ability to collaborate in multi-disciplinary teams
Passion for buildings and construction
Key Responsibilities
Provide technical leadership and oversight of electrical design packages
Review designs for quality and compliance with codes and client standards
Support facility power distribution, grounding, lighting, and low-voltage systems
Prepare construction documents and technical specifications
Serve as Electrical Discipline Lead or Quality Control reviewer
Support on-site construction activities and collaborate with clients and contractors
Work & Physical Requirements
On-site role in Boise, ID (Monday–Friday, standard business hours)
Ability to walk active construction sites, climb ladders, work in confined spaces, and lift up to 25 lbs
