Energy Efficiency Specialist
Job Description
We are seeking an Energy Efficiency Specialist to perform residential energy assessments, educate customers, and promote energy-saving solutions. This field-based role requires strong technical knowledge, customer interaction, and the ability to manage multiple priorities independently.
Candidates should be located within a reasonable commute of Sebring or Lake Wales, FL. Bilingual (Spanish) candidates are preferred.
Pay: $20.00- $30.00 per hour DOE
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct in-home energy assessments and analyze equipment performance (HVAC, insulation, ductwork, appliances)
- Educate customers on energy usage and recommend efficiency improvements
- Promote energy efficiency programs and achieve participation goals
- Troubleshoot technical issues and inspect energy management systems
- Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and internal teams to resolve customer concerns
- Follow up with customers to ensure satisfaction and issue resolution
- Represent the company at community events, trade shows, and presentations
- Support training initiatives and cross-functional team knowledge
- Assist with storm restoration efforts and special projects as needed
Minimum Requirements (Must-Have):
- High school diploma or GED
- 3+ years of related experience (energy, HVAC, utilities, or technical customer service)
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to work in field environments (attics, crawl spaces, outdoor conditions)
- Ability to lift 25 lbs and wear a respirator when required
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bilingual (Spanish)
- Bachelor’s degree
- Energy Auditor Certification
- Experience in energy efficiency or utility programs
- Strong customer service and consultative sales skills
