Distribution & Collection Operator
Job Description
The Distribution & Collection Operator leads a team maintaining a water distribution and wastewater collection system. Especially seeking candidates with sewer/collections plumbing experience and a Class A or B CDL.
Pay: $19.00 - $25.00 per hour
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead a team of Distribution and Collection Operators in daily field operations
- Perform water and sewer line installations, repairs, and low-pressure troubleshooting
- Assist with preventative maintenance and routine cleaning of water/wastewater systems
- Assist in repairs of treatment system equipment, machinery, and distribution/collection lines
- Operate heavy equipment (backhoes, cranes, forklifts, dump trucks) and trenchwork equipment
- Backfill and restore excavation sites, including landscaping, concrete, and asphalt replacement
- Turn water meters on/off; install meters and meter boxes
- Clean and clear sewer lines and lift station wet wells
- Repair breaks, leaks, and install new distribution/collection lines
- Adjust manhole covers and replace frames; repair defective sewer lines
- Complete work orders and field complaint forms
- Participate in a weekly rotating after-hours on-call schedule, including weekends and holidays
- Perform other duties as required
Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED
- FDEP Class 3 Distribution Operator License, or ability to obtain within one year
- Construction experience
- Valid Class B Commercial Driver's License
Preferred Qualifications:
- FDEP Class 2 Distribution Operator License (or ability to obtain)
- FWPCOA Class C Collections License (or ability to obtain)
- Experience with sewer/collections system plumbing
- Class A CDL
