Developing Piping Designer (Industrial Facilities)
Pay: $40.00- $52.00 per hour DOE
Location: Hybrid (2 days onsite)
Preferred Locations: Portland, OR | Phoenix, AZ | Pittsburgh, PA | Boise, ID
(Other office locations may be considered)
Job Overview
We are seeking a Developing Piping Designer to support industrial and commercial facility projects. This role is ideal for a designer with foundational piping experience who is looking to grow technically while working alongside experienced engineers and designers.
You will assist with piping layouts, 3D models, and drawings while learning to apply design standards and coordinate with multi-discipline teams.
Must-Have Qualifications
Associate’s degree in Design Technology or related field (or equivalent experience)
2–4 years of piping design experience in industrial or commercial facilities
Working knowledge of AutoCAD Plant 3D, Revit, or CADWorx
Understanding of basic piping design and equipment layout
Strong attention to detail and communication skills
Ability to work in a hybrid environment (2 days onsite)
Ideally, You Will Have
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering Technology or similar
Experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, chemical, semiconductor, or advanced manufacturing facilities
Familiarity with pipe stress concepts and their impact on layout
Exposure to QA/QC workflows and model cleanup
Advanced Revit or CADWorx experience (families, specs, advanced modeling)
Experience working with global workshare teams

Develop piping layouts and routing under senior guidance
Support equipment layout and incorporate vendor data
Assist with drawings and design deliverables
Review and apply markups and redlines
Maintain model accuracy, organization, and quality
