About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer III – Nuclear to support complex engineering projects within nuclear and nuclear-qualified facilities. In this senior-level role, you will apply advanced electrical engineering principles to solve complex design challenges with limited supervision. You will work independently while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality electrical design solutions that support safe, compliant, and reliable operations.

This position is ideal for an engineer with 10+ years of discipline experience who is ready to take on increased technical responsibility and contribute to projects of growing complexity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform electrical system design and analysis for nuclear and nuclear-qualified facilities

  • Develop and review electrical design packages, including drawings, calculations, and specifications

  • Solve complex engineering problems independently and provide technical recommendations

  • Ensure compliance with applicable nuclear codes, standards, and regulatory requirements (IEEE, NEC, NFPA, NRC, etc.)

  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering teams, project management, and operations

  • Support design modifications, upgrades, and system improvements

  • Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior engineers and designers as needed

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field

  • Minimum 10 years of electrical engineering or electrical design experience

  • Experience supporting nuclear facilities or nuclear-related projects

  • Strong understanding of electrical power, control, and/or instrumentation systems

  • Proven ability to work independently with limited supervision

  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in commercial nuclear power or DOE nuclear facilities

  • Familiarity with plant modification processes and design change control

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license

  • Experience working in highly regulated environments
