Water Operator I (Level 1 Certified – New Mexico)
Job Description
We are seeking a Water Operator I to support the operation and maintenance of water production and distribution systems. This role involves hands-on work with treatment equipment, system monitoring, and routine maintenance in a safety-focused environment.
Pay: Up to $25.00 per hour DOEKey Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain water treatment and distribution systems
- Monitor gauges, meters, and control panels
- Perform minor repairs on pumps, valves, hydrants, and pipelines
- Collect samples and conduct routine lab testing
- Maintain logs and report system abnormalities
- Support installation and repair of water system components
- Follow all safety procedures and wear required PPE
- Participate in on-call rotation as needed
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- New Mexico Level 1 Water Certification (required)
- Minimum 1+ year of water operations experience
- Valid driver’s license
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of pumps, engines, and water system equipment
- Basic understanding of biological and chemical processes
- General maintenance experience
