Environmental Technician – Intermediate
Pay: $30.00- $32.00 per hour DOE
Position Summary
The Environmental Technician – Intermediate supports the safe and compliant operation of a groundwater and solid waste environmental remediation facility. This role performs hands-on operations and maintenance (O&M) activities, equipment troubleshooting and repair, environmental system monitoring, and documentation in accordance with strict Health, Safety, Security, and Environmental (HSSE) standards. The position requires the ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a team environment.
Qualifications
The successful candidate will demonstrate the following experience and skills:
Strong knowledge of and commitment to industry-leading Health, Safety, Security, and Environmental (HSSE) practices
Hands-on, mechanically inclined aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot and repair equipment
Experience performing operations and maintenance (O&M) on fluid pumping systems, air compressors, industrial mixers, tanks, and vessels
Working knowledge of electrical process controls and programmable logic controllers (PLC)
Experience with groundwater sampling equipment and environmental monitoring systems
Background in environmental systems and industrial water treatment processes
Experience conducting hazardous waste inspections and managing regulated waste streams
High attention to detail with strong documentation skills, legible handwriting, and practical math competency
Ability to complete assigned tasks independently while maintaining positive collaboration with team members
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Maintain a safe, compliant, and environmentally responsible worksite at all times
Perform routine and corrective O&M activities to support the long-term operation of groundwater and solid waste environmental remediation systems
Monitor system performance and identify operational or mechanical issues
Conduct equipment maintenance, repairs, and rebuilds, including identifying failed components, recommending replacements, and installing components in accordance with HSSE guidelines
Collect samples, operate monitoring equipment, and support environmental compliance activities
Accurately complete required logs, inspection forms, and documentation in a timely and organized manner
Work both independently and collaboratively to ensure successful completion of assigned tasks
