Utility Worker

Location: DeFuniak Springs.

Position Summary

Client is seeking a Utility Worker to join our team supporting water and wastewater operations. This role is essential for maintaining safe, reliable, and efficient utility services. The Utility Worker will perform a variety of tasks related to the installation, maintenance, and repair of water and wastewater systems, ensuring compliance with all safety and environmental regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with the installation, maintenance, and repair of water and wastewater pipelines, valves, hydrants, and related infrastructure.

• Operate and maintain tools, equipment, and vehicles required for utility work.

• Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on utility systems.

• Respond to service calls, emergencies, and system failures promptly and professionally.

• Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and system conditions.

• Ensure compliance with safety standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements.

• Support other team members and departments as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.

• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

• Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, and light equipment safely.

• Basic knowledge of water and wastewater systems preferred.

• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and lift up to 50 lbs.

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.

• Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and on-call shifts as needed.

Preferred Skills

• Previous experience in water/wastewater operations or utility maintenance.

• Knowledge of trenching, pipe installation, and leak detection.

• Familiarity with OSHA safety standards and confined space entry procedures.
