Construction Project Engineer of QA/QC

Description
This person will work individually and as part of a team performing the tasks necessary to meet the company’s contractual obligations.
- Lead, train, keep safe and support project team personnel. Initially, as a function of growth, and potentially upon rare occasions in the future, this will mean actively performing installation or onsite supervision of a crew until consistent supervision is warranted and provided. The necessity for this is a function of project opportunities, and the ability of this person.
- Support preconstruction.
- Support Project Team with Close-Out Documentation.
- Work with and review designers’ approach and modeling coordination to optimize installation for safety, quality, and value.
- Ensure communication of the original plan to the on-site craft leadership and adherence to or improvement upon the original plan.
- Advise Operations Manager of any concerns and likewise, ensure that onsite craft leadership is communicating needs for information, equipment, etc. to Project Management effectively.
Job Requirements
Education and Experience
• Minimum high school or general education diploma (GED) with good math skills.
• Minimum 2 years of related experience with verifiable references.
• Additional applicable education can be substituted for experience.
Technical expertise in developing written plans specific to:
- Duct Work Testing
- Flushing Plans
- Chlorination
- Process Piping
- Temporary Conditioning
- Material procurement
- Installation procedures
- Punch list / Action Items
- Equipment Start-Up
- Pre-Functional checklist
- Commissioning
- Valve Tag Chart
- Close-Out Documentation
Applicable Skills and Obligations
• Excellent understanding of safety and labor productivity risk on a construction site or in a fab shop
environment and willingness to act proactively to mitigate those risks.
• Functional knowledge of other MEP craft construction means and methods.
• Ability to quantity take off equipment and piping systems and accessories including strong math skills in
addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
• Work with internal customers/resources to support project craft personnel.
• Work with external customers to support project teams.
• Capable of independent thinking and action when necessary.
• Capable of following written and verbal instruction.
• OSHA 30hr certification is required within 60 days of hire. A course will be provided if necessary.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Effective problem-solving skills a must.
• Willingness to learn new skills and perform assignments that are outside position requirements.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills are a requirement for this position.
• Bending and lifting will occasionally be required.
• Driving/riding in vehicles for long periods of time may be required.
• Lifting to 40 lbs. may be required.
• Ability to work in Microsoft Office and pdf management software.
