Construction Inspector II
Job Description
Contract start date expected June 2024
The work includes, but is not limited to utility relocation, embankment reconstruction, landslide stabilizations, drainage systems installation, gabion retaining wall construction, milling and overlay, pavement reconstruction, pavement markings installation, removal and replacement of guardrails, sediment and erosion control, maintenance of traffic, and other miscellaneous work.
In need of:
Two (2) qualified Inspector Level II personnel who will be responsible for inspecting traffic control, environmental controls, layout, construction methods, and materials used in the project. Their primary task is to ensure that the day to day work performed by the contractor meets the project's quality standards. The CI II personnel will review and recommend accepting or rejecting daily reports submitted by the contractor, including the contractor’s quality control procedures and material testing. They will also verify that the procedures used by the contractor are in conformance with the approved Quality Control Plan and established procedures. The CI II personnel must have the ability to review material testing procedures and results to ensure conformance to the contract requirements, as well as measure quantities of materials placed. Additionally, they may be required to perform sampling and/or in place testing of soil, aggregate base, concrete, and asphalt concrete pavement.
Job Requirements
Desired the Inspectors should have extensive experience working on embankment stabilization and reconstruction, gabion and gravity retaining walls, mechanically stabilized earth walls, drainage systems installation, milling and overlay, pavement reconstruction, pavement markings, removal and replacement of guardrails, signage, temporary traffic control, and other heavy highway construction related project inspection works.
Experience working with EFLHD FP 14 and/or PRHTA standards and specifications is preferred. Inspector should be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office (Excel, word, etc...) and Adobe Acrobat (pdf). Bilingual (Spanish) candidates preferred; be able to read, write and speak Spanish, at a minimum, the ability to make oneself understood to all Spanish speaking individuals.
