Collections Operator in Training

Collection System O&M · CDL Class B · NJDEP C1 License

Support wastewater collection system operations and maintenance. This role is ideal for someone looking to build hands-on experience while working toward state operator certification.




Pay: $20.00 - $25.96 per hour




Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Valid Class B Commercial Driver's License (required at hire)
  • Ability to obtain NJDEP C1 Operator's License within 2 years of hire
  • Availability for on-call rotation

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of collection system tools, equipment, and repair materials
  • Previous experience in water/wastewater treatment, operations, or collections
  • OSHA training (Confined Space Entry, Lockout/Tagout)
  • NJDEP C1 Operator's License already obtained

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist Collections Operator with sewer cleaning, clearing, rodding, and repairs
  • Clean bar screen facilities throughout the collection system
  • Support weekly preventive maintenance on equipment
  • Maintain records using CMMS, Word, and Excel
  • Read and interpret sewer maps, construction plans, and O&M manuals
  • Diagnose simple collection system problems
  • Perform Activity Hazard Analysis and Pre-Task Planning
  • Perform other duties as required
