CDL Sanitation Truck Driver

Job Description

We are hiring a CDL Sanitation Truck Driver to operate a garbage truck on assigned routes and lead a small crew. This role involves waste collection, equipment operation, and ensuring safe and efficient route completion.

Pay: $24.00 per hour

Responsibilities

• Operate a garbage truck on assigned routes
• Collect, load, and transport waste to disposal sites
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections
• Follow routes, schedules, and safety procedures
• Perform basic preventive maintenance on vehicles
• Provide professional interaction with customers
• Lead and support a 2–3 person crew
• Respond to emergency situations as needed

Qualifications

• Valid CDL (Commercial Driver’s License)
• Current DOT medical card
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
• Ability to lead a small crew
• 2+ years of commercial driving experience preferred
• Waste industry experience a plus
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
• Must pass background check and drug screening
• Must wear steel-toe boots and PPE daily

Work Environment

• Outdoor work in various weather conditions
• Exposure to traffic, equipment, noise, and waste materials
• Physical work including lifting, bending, climbing, and repetitive motion
