Job Description:

Aerospace and Defense Technical is hiring a Buyer Associate

The Buyer Associate assists in conducting distribution and network studies to maximize the efficiency of MRO operations

Analyzes distribution and storage of goods to minimize costs and maximize profitability, and forecasts inventory levels requirements in order to achieve desired delivery times and order fill rates.

Manages various consigned materials programs and serves as the business unit point of contact between the service centers and the consignee

Maintain team metrics to assist in the daily management/performance of the team (OTD report weekly, Open PO report, Open PR Report) Complete OTD updates in the system, work with suppliers on delivery assurance/expediting, coordinate with program planners to ensure OTD Support data cleanup activities for system accuracy.

Coordinate with planners on scrap rates to ensure demand/forecasting is communicated to supply base (safety stock, min/max recommendations)

Develops and maintains various measures and metrics to monitor inventory levels and identify trends

Coordinates movement of inventory within the service center network as needed

Assists with implementation, improvement, and maintenance of the inventory module of the business system

Develops and improves inventory procedures, reporting mechanisms, and training modules

Develops and implements new inventory stocking methods (i.e. Kanban, POU, consignment)

Maintains all system supply chain setups

Places material orders

Monitors order status and follows up on past due orders

Performs other duties as assigned


BA/BS degree

3+ years’ experience

MRP experience

Demonstrated analytical ability

Excellent communication skills

Ability to interface with all levels of personnel

Advanced Microsoft Excel skills

Ability to make decisions that impact strategic goals concerning inventory, WIP, and throughput

Working knowledge of planning business system operation, SAP, and query report write

US Citizenship required
