Our client is looking for a full time Benefits Specialist.
M-F 8am-5pm onsite

Responsibilities

  • Assists in administering employee benefits programs such as retirement plans; medical, dental, vision plans; life insurance plans; temporary disability programs; and wellness programs.
  • Evaluates and compares existing company benefits with those of other employers by analyzing other plans, surveys, and other sources of information. Assists in planning, developing and/or participating in area and industry surveys. Assist in analyzing results of surveys and develop specific recommendations for review by management.
  • Assists in developing specifications for new plans or modifying existing plans to ensure the accuracy of all benefits enrollments in the HRIS to provide vendors with accurate eligibility information.
  • Implements benefits communications to inform and counsel employees on programs relevant to them.
  • Provides accurate and up to date benefits related data to Employee Services, for the purposes of new-hire orientations.
  • Performs quality checks and audits of benefits-related data; participates in benefits and 401(k) audits.
  • Assists employees regarding benefits claim issues and plan changes.
  • Distributes all benefits enrollment materials and determines eligibility.
  • Enrolls employees with carriers and processes life status changes.
  • Responds to benefits inquiries from managers and employees on plan provisions, benefits enrollments, status changes and other general inquiries.
  • Processes and administers all leave-of-absence requests and disability paperwork: medical, personal, disability and FMLA.
  • Effectively interprets FMLA and ADA implications as they relate to leaves of absences/disabilities.
  • Responds to 401(k) inquiries from managers and employees relating to enrollments, plan changes and contribution amounts. Manages the annual catch-up contribution enrollment.
  • Works closely with Brokers/Providers/Vendors to facilitate successful open enrollment processes.
  • Provides necessary reports for allocation/billing charges; processes claims, changes, enrollments, and other benefits filings
  • Prepares ACA reporting and maintains ACA records throughout the year to meet compliance standards.
  • Maintains enrollment and claims records for all benefits plans

Job Requirements

Requirements

  • Associate degree in HR or related field; experience and/or other training/certification in Benefits or Benefits Administration may be substituted for the educational requirements.
  • Three to five years' experience in benefits administration.
  • Experience with Benefits Program Compliance Filings and COBRA/ACE Reporting
  • Experience with Open Enrollment Administration
  • Strong excel, word, data entry and data management abilities.
  • Experience with benefits administration software is a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to adhere to, and apply, company policies and procedures.
  • Ability to communicate regularly with supervisor about department issues, using effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to have a positive, collaborative, and respectful attitude.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive employee and company information.
  • Strong work ethic.

Job Types: Contract, Full-time

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
  • Day shift
  • Monday to Friday

Education:

  • Associates (preferred or experience in lieu of degree)

Experience:

  • Benefits Admin: 3 years (Required)
  • Benefits filing compliance: 1 year (Required)
