Asset Designer (Power Distribution)

Job Description
Asset Designer provides technical expertise to solve complex problems and skills to provide work in a specific area of expertise, with supervision. Employees in the Designer position are expected to develop advanced skills and the ability to work with a high degree of independence.
Employee in this position will be responsible for the design and management of projects for the Regional Major Projects and Maintain Programs including:
DOT relocations
Grid Investment Programs
IVVC
Targeted Opportunities
DTUG
Joint Use
Large Structure Moves
Municipal Beautification Projects
Responsibilities
Applies technical expertise and guidance in the identification, analysis and resolution of problems in area of expertise
Ensures accomplishment of business goals and objectives through effective planning, organizing, estimating, scheduling, and monitoring of work activities
Prepares thorough and accurate technical reports, correspondence, documentation, calculations and sketches
Conducts engineering and related studies
Strives to continually improve job-related, technical and professional knowledge, skills and performance
Develops positive working relationships to effectively coordinate work activities
Demonstrates effective verbal and written communication skills
Maintains accurate records and files
Supports the company's goals and represents the company positively and professionally
Experience Preferred:
Distribution Design: 2 years
Maximo: 2 Years
Poleforeman: 2 Years
Microstation: 2 Years
Desired Qualifications
Good written and oral communication skills
Experience in the utility industry
Able to effectively apply basic principles of project management
Understanding of basic practices of researching engineering and design issues, evaluating alternatives, making sound recommendations and preparing and presenting recommendations
Hands on distribution line construction experience
Experience in Distribution Design
Maximo BOUD
Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Day shift
- Monday to Friday
Experience:
- Power Distribution Design: 2 years (Preferred)
