Job Description:

 This is an entry level, learning position with possibility of advancement to Maintenance Technician.

Must be flexible and able to work varied schedule, including weekends and some holidays as required.

 The Apprentice Technician is responsible for assisting the Maintenance Supervisor and Maintenance Technician, if applicable, in trashing out and cleaning of vacant units, turning of vacant units, including painting

Under direction of the Community Manager, or Maintenance Supervisor, performs maintenance activities for apartment community along with the other maintenance staff

Trash out recently vacated apartments.

Perform interior painting, drywall and caulking

Installs light fixtures, bulbs and changes locks.

Cleans grounds on a daily basis

Complete weekly/daily assignments as requested by Community Manager or Maintenance Supervisor

Pressure washing of the property, including sidewalks and buildings as needed

Be on call with a rotation of other maintenance employees if needed

Identify any hazardous conditions on the property and report to immediate supervisor

Attendance is an essential job function.

May be requested to assist at other communities

Assist with hazardous weather problems, fires, floods, freezes, etc.

Responsible for overall cleanliness of property.

Perform any and all other duties as requested or assigned by your supervisor / manager.

Qualifications:

High School Diploma or equivalent required;

Position requires no experience but must be mechanically inclined and willing to learn

Must be able to perform all facets of apartment make-ready.

Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize duties and responsibilities.

Must have the ability to work with little direction maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.

Apartment experience preferred, but not required

Willing to learn and advance

Must have a valid driver’s license and means of immediate transportation.

Must furnish basic set of hand tools
