Description:
With the ever-changing utility industry and the proliferation of distributed generation technologies the analytics of generation assets will play a greater role in PGO. The analyst role will require individuals to support business experts and Lead Energy Accounting Analysts in this ever-changing environment. The analyst role will support systems, processes, and provide a wide range of data analytics as it relates to the Transmission and Distribution load calculations. Individuals will support business critical initiatives to meet ever changing customer and business strategies. Incumbents must possess the ability to deliver results through data analytics, working in a strong team and support environment, and be comfortable with routine business tasks. Attention to detail will be critical in this role and keys to success.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Support jurisdictional leadership and others across the enterprise to implement strategic, regulatory, and financial initiatives.
  • Perform routine tasks that enable successful strategic business initiatives.
  • Support Volume Management processes, maintain reports, and maintain accurate data in systems that support the Transmission and Distribution load and customer billing calculations.
  • Understand and observe NERC and FERC Code of Conduct Standards and rules that ensures the electronic security of BES data.
  • Analyze data, help resolve problems, and synthesize information from numerous sources in support of hourly, daily, and month-end processes.
  • Promote enhancements to upstream and downstream processes and systems.
  • Maintain documentation and records in support of all processes.
  • Use sound judgement when making decisions when limited supervision is available.
  • Offer mitigating actions while escalating risks and barriers appropriately
  • Deliver high quality results in a timely manner meeting or exceeding established month-end closing deadlines.
  • Become familiar with contractual agreements and impacts to data and load calculations
  • Become familiar with the Transmission Open Access Transmission Tariff
  • Communicate status and issues to teammates and management in a timely manner.
  • Become familiar with system operations and the implications of decisions to customers and the transmission and distribution business.
  • Demonstrate effective listening skills and ability to understand others and other points of view
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently.
  • Base knowledge of the utility industry.

     

Job Requirements

Basic/Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, Engineering or other related field
  • In lieu of required degree, High School/GED and minimum seven (7) years relevant work experience
  • Demonstrated advance knowledge and aptitude in computer systems and Microsoft applications.
  • Ability to multi-task with attention to detail.
  • Strong team player
  • Proactively seek opportunities.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills including the ability to build effective internal and external relationships
  • Ability to meet stated deadlines and respond quickly to changing needs through a team approach
  • Ability to work in a team environment and foster good relationships with teammates & internal and external partners as well as all levels within the organization.
  • Proven analytical skills.
  •  Awareness of Regional Transmission Organization (RTO)
  • Awareness of Bulk Electric Systems (BES) and wholesale electric markets


Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience in the utility industry.
  • Experience with Regional Transmission Organizations (RTO)
  • Working knowledge of Transmission and Customer Delivery business processes
  • Ability to communicate complex and innovative concepts
    5. Effectively maneuver through change.
  • Working knowledge of data analytics, Agile, or Waterfall techniques
